Shiebler Victorian Perfume Flask Pendant

About the Item

Shiebler sterling Victorian perfume flask pendant made originally for a chatelaine but can be used now as a pendant. It remarkably retains its original sterling stopper which is fitted beautifully. Ornate Rococo applications with angel, griffin and floral scrollwork decorated on one side while the back is decorated with a crown and crest motif, possibly ordered for the toilette of a person of status. Beautifully crafted in sterling silver with lavish embellishment all over. The filigreed top appears to be pierced but is actually solid. Wonderful quality construction. Marked with George Shiebler winged hallmark with "3413" and sterling along edge of lip. Perfume 2.85" x 2", with chain 4" x 2". Excellent condition, USA 1870s.
