English Sterling Silver Box of 6 TEA KNIVES Full set of English hallmarks, applied by the Sheffield Assay Office.:- Crown - Sheffield Assay Office Lion - Sterling guarantee mark Lower case v - Date letter for Sheffield 1913 The maker`s mark - CWF, for Charles William Fletcher of C W Fletcher & Son Ltd., Sterling Works, Bramhall Lane, Sheffield. A superb set of tea or cake knives, beautifully made with 3 1/4 inch long tapering blades made of sterling silver, and 3 inch long mother of pearl handles. They look great, and balance perfectly. They come in the original, fitted box. Covered in black leatherette, bedded on blue velvet. The lid lined with glue silk. Very near original condition - just one small patch on the box cover where the leatherette has been skinned. SUPERB NEAR ORIGINAL CONDITION Knife length:- 161 millimetres / 6.34 inches Total knives weight:- 135 grams / 4.34 troy ounces. Average knife weight:- 22.5 gms. / 0.72 ozs.
