Wilkens silver art deco coffee and tea set
About the Item
Sterling silver tea and coffee service.
Made by M.H. Wilkens & Sӧhne in Bremen-Hemelingen, Germany.
The service comprises: 1 coffeepot with hinged cover, 1 teapot with hinged cover, 1 sugar with cover, all on tray.
Hollowware: Coffeepot: ovoid with scrolled handle, scrolled vertical spout, and dome cover with lobed disc finial. Teapot: squat and globular with scrolled handle, scrolled vertical spout, and curved cover with lobed disc finial. Sugar: curved sides, scrolled side handles and curved cover with lobed disc finial. All on flared and lobed foot.
Tray: oval well, curved sides, and everted and lobed rim.
Advanced post war design. Clean lines with industrial-style ornament. Hallmarked. Excellent condition.
