An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique European cast silver combination centrepiece sugar box and salt; part of our continental ornamental silverware collection This exceptional and rare antique cast European silver combination centrepiece sugar box and salt is realistically modelled in the form of a seated horned-goat. The silver centrepiece/box has been embellished with fine details reproducing the goat's fur and anatomical features. This exceptional antique silver sugar box is fitted with the original push fit head/cover. The centrepiece is further fitted with a secondary cover to the back, allowing access to a shallow compartment. This hinged cover is embellished with an impressive cast putto figure playing a drum; this design incorporates a round link chain around the putto's neck and conjoined to the drums rope twist cables. This exceptional three-dimensional ornament/box is fitted to an oval rounded base, embellished with impressive chased egg and oval bead decoration, in addition to terrain style designs to the upper plateau. Condition This antique silver centrepiece and sugar box is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The pseudo hallmarks to the surface of the base are have wear in keeping with age and location; the date and continental origin can be determined by the composition and decoration. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this European silverware.     A magnificent, fine and impressive set of three antique Georgian English sterling silver sugar and tea caddies - boxed; an addition to our silver teaware collection These magnificent, fine and impressive antique Georgian silver sugar and tea caddies each have an oblong shaped form. The surface of each antiquecaddy is embellished with impressive embossed and chased scroll and foliate decoration incorporating a stylised animalistic mask to the upper portion. The decoration to either side incorporates a scene depicting a woman arranging flowers, and the posterior surface bears a structure, all in the chinoiserie style. The anterior surfaces these antique tea caddies incorporate scroll and leaf bordered cartouches, each displaying a contemporary engraved coat of arms. The opposing scrolling lower portion of each caddy composes a shaped rim and foot. These caddies are fitted with the original hinged cast silver covers, ornamented with further foliate and floral decoration and surmounted with impressive floral finials. These Georgian silver tea caddies and sugar canister are fitted to the fine and impressive, original hinged wood and skin covered presentation casket, bearing the original velvet lined interior. The presentation box is fitted with the original silver escutcheon and carrying handle, in addition to four bracket style feet emanating from the corners. These magnificent silver boxes are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire. Condition These antique 18th century tea/sugar caddies are a magnificent gauge of silver, magnificent quality and in magnificent condition. The cast, embossed and chased decoration is very sharp and the engraved ornamentation is very crisp; the definition of these details indicates these caddies have seen little or no use. The original casket is distressed in keeping with age, however, remains in working condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddies are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the magnificent gauge of silver.
