About the Item
A highly decorative antique Japanese Meiji Era enamel plate,
. The interior of the plate is enameled with a polychrome design with images of fans to the center. Each fan is adorned with intricate designs depicting landscapes, birds, insects and other traditional motifs, The center is surrounded by a border with skillfully detailed floral motifs on a sky blue ground. The backside is decorated with a swirl ornament made in the Cloisonne technique. Has a hanging mechanism on the backside.
