An English Aesthetic period silverplated water jug designed by Christopher Dresser and made by the Elkington Co. Ca. 1895. Marked. This is a smaller example of Elkington's design # 16587 for a covered claret jug. The Elkington archives confirm the authorship of the design. See Christie's sale #9875, lot 137.
