Art Nouveau Sterling Silver Coffee Jug

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver Art Nouveau coffee jug; an addition to the silver teaware collection This exceptional antique George V English sterling silver coffee jug has a plain tapering cylindrical form to a spreading foot. The surface of this coffee jug is plain and unembellished, encircled with an applied moulded border to the upper rim. This fine example of antique silverware is fitted with the original hallmarked domed hinged cover, surmounted with a sterling silver bifurcating curvilinear finial, in the Art Nouveau style. This exceptional antique coffee jug is fitted with the original bifurcating handle, accented with large scrolling terminals in junction with the body. This iconic Art Nouveau handle is further overlaid with an interwoven handpiece, strategically interlaced to produce a segmented chevron design. This exceptional example of antique teaware is fitted with a plain truncated spout. Condition This antique coffee jug is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The coffee jug has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The interior of the coffee jug has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body, in addition to part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this exceptional piece of antique silverware.
