Set of Four Blue and Gilt Painted English Scenes Coffee Cups
About the Item
Set of four blue and gilt painted English scenes coffee cups. Set of four pale blue and gilt painted coffee cups and saucers, biscuit bowl and plate, each with gilt shaped and scalloped rim, large blue band with further inset gilding centering on hand painted imagined English countryside scenes of castles and ruins in landscapes; each scene unique on all pieces including interiors of cups painted with scenes and further gilt scrolled banding. Small losses to two cup handles and gilding loss through use. Very decorative grouping. England circa 1830.
