Chinese Export Blue and White Porcelain Covered Tureen and Platter, 19th Cenutry

About the Item

A traditional and timeless Chinese Export "Canton" pattern blue and white porcelain tureen and cover with associated large platter, late 19th century, China. The tureen, cover, and the associated platter all decorated in underglaze blue and white with the typical "Canton" pattern, featuring an idyllic mountain and river landscape, complete with boats, trees, bridges and pagodas. The pattern repeating on both sides of the tureen, the cover, and the platter. The tureen of typical form, with a wide body set on a high recessed foot. Two boars heads serve as the handles. The cover surmounted by a stem handle. The edges slightly scalloped. The platter of rectangular form with raised edges. Size of tureen only: 10.75" across the handles x 6.25" to the top of the stem finial x 8".
