Roman Gold Pendant with Cabochons
About the Item
A thin, circular Roman gold pendant featuring a central garnet cabochon gem held within a raised cell. Above it, another garnet cabochon enriches the piece. The item is topped by a suspension loop. At the bottom, a biconical decoration with filigree detailing adds a sense of movement to the piece. The back is plain, with a round rosette in the centre and decorative bands.
Size: L: 45mm / W: 24mm ; 5.48g
Provenance: Property of a professional London art expert; obtained from an old British collection formed in the 1980s. This item has been checked against the Art Loss Register database.
