Round Red Earthenware Studio Pottery Bowl w/ Transparent Green Glaze - Unsigned
About the Item
A beautiful piece of red earthenware studio pottery. Created from a rich red clay material, this piece was found in Oklahoma. It is glazed in a transparent clear glaze on the inside and outside on the sides. In the bottom of the bowl, it is glazed in a pretty verdigris green. The green is a transparent green, and you can see the red swirls of earthenware through it. The bottom is unsigned. We estimate this piece to be from the Mid-20th century. It would be great on a coffee table or nightstand to hold keys or spare change. It would also be great to use as a candy dish. The bottom has a small drip of green glaze which is chipped. This is not structural, it is only to the glazing. It is a gorgeous piece that would add character to any room!
