The Mud Man is holding a piece of leather and a drum, about to wrestle with the Horned Water Serpent (Palulukang) that is emerging from a pottery jar , or Mudhead kachina clown
Also known as the Planet or Meteor Kachina, the Chasing Star Kachina doll is a unique doll that represents the spirit of the stars and planets. It is believed that Chasing Star controls the movements of the stars and planets in the sky, dictating weather and seasons.
