Octagons Quilt
About the Item
This octagonal pattern goes by the names of Octagons ; White Mountains and Patriot's Quilt. It is a complex pattern that is not often seen. The zigzag border adds another geometric element to frame the interior. This fine example is done in a beautiful soft blue and is in pristine, unwashed condition. The body of the quilt is stitched with diamonds and a cable pattern throughout the border. Measurements are 75 inches square. The back is a striped shirting fabric to which the quilt can be reversed. Pennsylvania origin; made circa 1920's.
