Bob Stocksdale Signed Monumental Mid-Century Modern Turned Exotic Wood Charger

About the Item

An exquisitely crafted, rare wood charger/platter by American California master Woodturner Bob Stocksdale. Signed and marked ("Harewood from England") by the artist on the verso. The piece radiates and shimmers in the light. The wood grain is gorgeous. We have not come across any other pieces made by Stocksdale in this particular wood so are assuming it is quite rare. Stocksdale's many honors include the American Association of Woodturners Lifetime Achievement Award (1998) and the Masters of the Medium Award, James Renwick Alliance (2003). Stocksdale received the American Craft Council’s Gold Medal in 1995. His works are prized by collectors and appear in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Oakland Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland to name a few. Would be a fantastic addition to any collectors of his work or a great stand-alone accent piece. Dimensions: 1" high, 17.75" wide, 17.5" deep.
