Makonde Comb From Zimbabwe Bantu Tribe 'Smaller'

About the Item

This comb was fashioned in the hand carved, traditional Makonde style. This fertility comb features a pregnant woman. Generally, local carvers make only a belly and breast comb to be worn by young men. This comb is a reflection their new adult status. It is displayed atop a wire mounted on a clear acrylic base.
