This sculpture is a high-quality replica of Emilio Zocchi's famous sculpture. The piece portrays a well-known episode in the life of a young, 15 year-old Michelangelo, when he copied the head of an ancient fawn figure. Lorenzo de' Medici was so impressed, he invited him to join his court as an artist.
