19th Century Antique Ships Chandler Shop Advertising Sign

About the Item

A relic from Boston’s mercantile history and the seafaring trade. This 19th century shop sign displays a fairly detailed replica of a navigator’s octant (or sextant) and the proprietor’s name and street number. A significant portion of society would still have found it easier to identify this waterfront business by its pictorial cue than the printed letters. Measures 43” high x 35” x 5” deep.
