About the Item

An early toleware Locksmith's trade sign. A wonderful 19th century gilded metal trade sign, delightfully original & untouched with the perfect patina. The faded gold paintwork is entirely original, as are the mounting brackets to either end, one of which would have been attached to the building, the other to a length of chain An exceptionally original & scarce surviving example. French, c1890 Wear commensurate with age, very good condition overall showing minor signs of it's past making it what is is today, original brackets offer options when mounting, no chain is included.
