About the Item
Antique set of 8 Nesting Dolls, known as Matryoshka, placed in the 1920s to 1950s.
The original set contained of 10, the 2 smallest have gone travelling the world!
Completely hand crafted, turned by hand, with the largest doll even supplied with a base.
Hand painted intricately with floral patterns, known as Khokhloma.
The origin of this set I learnt is the town of Sergiev-Posad, Russia.
The smallest doll measures 22 mm ( 0.78 inches) approx.
