About the Item
Expressive, interesting African Baoulé mask from Cote d'Ivoire from last third of the last century, carved from wood painted polychrome.
The face is narrow & elegant and has a thoughtful expression.
The color captivates with its intensity, the face is saffron yellow, the antelope is rather lemon yellow, the accents in the face were set by an almost black color. The lips of the mask are accentuated in light gray.
