Fish Weathervane In Robin's Egg Blue Paint
About the Item
Fish weathervane, made ca 1920 of sheet metal, found with its original steel and ironwork roof mount bracket. With all of the fake sheet metal weathervanes floating around in the marketplace, it's nice to find one with physical proof of its original use.
The body of the fish is painted Robin's egg blue. This is more intact on one side than the other, which suggests that it was laying outdoors in the same position for many years, probably following its removal from the roof of whatever building it adorned.
We removed the fish from the bracket so it can be displayed more attractively on a custom, metal stand. The original bracket is available to the buyer.
