Pair of French 19th Century Porphyry and Ormolu Candelabra in Louis XVI Manner
About the Item
Pair of Louis XVI style porphyry and ormolu candelabra.
Rising from a square base supported by gilt bronze bracket feet, giving way to a stepped stiff-leaf ormolu border; the porphyry base having inset classical gilt bronze plaques. The four scrolling branches crescendo from a clustered triform porphyry column wrapped at its base by cabbage-like acanthus leaves complemented below by a wreath-and-torsade motif.
