About the Item
Unique set of four chandeliers designed by Sten Carlquist during the 1950s. Solid oak with dull polished brass diffusers and acrylic shades. Only remaining set from "Immanuelskyrkan" in Norrko¨ping. Excellent condition with minor wear and age related patina. 130 cm in height with chains. Adjustable.

Provenance: The lamps where designed for "ImmanuelsKyrkan" in Norrko¨ping, Sweden. Built 1956. Sten Carlquist drew the building as well as the interior design for the church. The lamps where produced by Hans Agne Jakobsson AB in Markaryd.

Hans-Agne Jakobsson
Hans-Agne Jakobsson was a Swedish interior and furniture designer, who ran his own company from 1951. Jakobsson was especially famous for his lighting designs, which often had a softly glowing light and organic shape. His designs were inspired by great, modern Scandinavian designers such as the Finnish icon Alvar Aalto and Danish lighting master Poul Henningsen.
