1960s Louis Poulsen PH Kontrast Pendant Lamp by Poul Henningsen Denmark

About the Item

This iconic 1960s “Kontrast” pendant lamp was designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen. Henningsen began his collaboration with Copenhagen-based lighting company Louis Poulsen in 1925, and produced over one hundred lamps, all belonging to the PH series, based on the idea of multiple shades and diffusors to provide warm, soft light. This pendant lamp is in wonderful period condition, and has 10 brushed and white painted aluminium shades, with orange and blue painted centres. There are two Louis Poulsen labels, one inside the shade, the other inside the bulb holder. In original paint, in good period condition, and fully rewired to UK 240v spec. The ceiling rose doesn’t appear to be original to the piece. Measurements: 45cm diameter x 50cm H. 38cm H bottom to top of shade. 105cm H to (adjustable) ceiling rose shown in pictures.
