Antique French Empire Style Bronze Three Arm Large Chandelier
About the Item
An antique, circa 1900 - 1920, French Empire style bronze three light chandelier. The underside of the chandelier features a highly detailed stylized acanthus leaf pierced ornament with a drop down acorn ornament. Each of the three arms features a scrolling and scaled design as well as a stylized acanthus leaf drop down ornament. Each of the three arms is supported by a rod with a central leaf and bobeche ornament. The upper part of the chandelier features more stylized acanthus leaves. The surface of the chandelier varies between a deep bronze patina and a colored patina of a very deep green. The included candle covers show signs of wear. Each light is currently in working order, however was not examined by an electrician. The wiring looks to be newer as it was previously installed in an Atlanta area home. The chandelier measures approximately 40” high by 28” in diameter.
