Antique Vintage Copper Ovaloid Opaline Milk Glass Ceiling Pendant Light Lamp
About the Item
- An oval lid opaline glass pendant light with stepped copper gallery, circa 1930.
- Incredible eye catching shape with beautiful white opaline glass, wear commensurate with age, all in good condition.
- Rewired with dark brown braided flex and PAT tested, supplied with suspension chain and original matching ceiling hook.
Opaline Glass Opaline is a form of decorative glassware which was made throughout the 19th century, manufacture was predominantly French, although it was inspired by Venetian Milk Glass, and White Glass produced in Bristol. The popularity of Opaline glass began during the reign of Napoleon and various locations across in England were involved in their production. The opaline glass is characterised by a bright white colour, the high lead content defined it as crystal like, giving it jewel-like qualities across its appearance.
