Beautiful Blue Glass 12-arm Wrought-Iron & Clear Glass Chandelier by Erik Hoglund. Very sought after for their very unique, unmatching and striking
Design. The thick clear glass medallions each impressed with the image of a fish or a primitive face. Designed by Erik Höglund for Kosta Boda Glassworks Sweden, where he worked as Artistic Director 1948-53, ironwork by Axel Strömgren. Höglund was awarded the prestigeous Lunning-prize in 1957. His wrought-iron chandeliers were at one point in the 1960's sold through Georg Jensen's showroom in NY as well. He studied at National college of Art, Craft & Design, Stockholm 1948-53. Designer for Boda Bruks AB 1953-73 (famous glass manufactory) worked as a sculptor, e.g. in Stockholm in bronze, wood, stone and brick from 1973 until his death recently. A few of his pieces are in the permanent collection of the Metropolitan Museum NY.
As one can see from the main image and the other two images, the hanging parts, in glass can be hung, placed differently, hence giving it a different look.
Comes with 3 original wrought-iron hanging hooks, each measures approx. 7in.
