Charles X Bronze and Ormolu Chandelier
About the Item
A French 10 arm Charles X chandelier in patinated bronze and ormolu.
Rich in details with a coronet adorned with à la grecque décor and a black polished leaf crown. Original chains supporting a circular bowl form ten light fixture, each adorned with chiseled foliage and ormolu modeled cups. The bowl adorned with a à la grecque band and a vase the centre. A foliage medallion covers the underside of the light with central drop in the form of a cone.
Original condition.
France approx. 1820.
NB: The holes on the upper side (see photos) were made later for electrification. These cannot be seen when it is hanging. The lamp can be electrified.
