Danish Modern Red Ceramics Pendants by Jette Hellerøe at Axella Studio, 1970s
About the Item
Unique Danish Modern pendants handmade in the 1970s by artist Jette Hellerøe at Axella studio, Denmark. The lamps are made from stoneware and finished in an expressive glossy red glazing. Original red wire included.
While Hans J. Wegner, Kaare Klint and Finn Juhl led the way for the success of Denmarks dominance at the field of modern furniture production Danish arts and crafts was also flourishing. The most well-known names are probably Silversmith George Jensen, Ceramist Axel Salto and Woodworker Kay Bojesen, but despite Denmark's modest size, there were a multitude of small workshops with arts and crafts that produced high-quality objects to everyday life. Much of it was sold directly from the workshops, but also more established shops such as "Den Permanente" and "Illums Bolighus" in Copenhagen exhibited and sold works from these workshops in the 1940-1970s.

- Unique Handcrafted Danish Ceramic Pendant Jette Hellerøe Light Fixture, 1970sBy Jette HellerøeLocated in Lisse, NLBeautiful color and good size Danish hand crafted fixture with chestnut leaf pattern. If you are looking for a stylish design, light to grace your midcentury or modern home then this handmade specimen from the 1970s could be flying your way soon. With lighting as one of our specialties we were, again, very happy to have been able to purchase this rare ceramic light as well. We purchased it from the same home where we found the Helleroe pendant that we published on 1stdibs yesterday. This fine specimen too has an organic-design and color shade and the chestnut leafs make it extra special and aesthetically pleasing. Both with the light switched on and off this work of lighting art too has a unique presence, one that will never fail to impress. This natural stone-like color pendant comes with a metal chain and an equally beautiful and original ceramic canopy. With the light switched on this Scandinavian light fixture...Category
