Dayton Railroad Car Gas or Electric Chandelier

About the Item

The lamp is unsigned but we believe it’s from Dayton Lighting Company and dates to 1900. This is a simple clean design that was not for the ornate dining cars of that time. It could have been for the mail car or a caboose. What make this most interesting is the use of a fuel lamp combined with electric lamps. It was most likely a transition piece. We like its early industrial utilitarian simplicity.
