English Regency Brass And Crystal Twelve Candle Chandelier
About the Item
This Grand Elegant Regency Tent-&-Basket Twelve Candle Chandelier was designed and made in England in the early Nineteenth Century. This Regency Period Chandelier has an elegant classical design. The Regency Tent-&-Basket Candle Chandelier has a Brass & Gilt Chinoiserie frame. The Regal Candle Chandelier has stylized Fountain Form Crown that suspends faceted crystal oval Jewels with French Drops. Below the Crown is a crystal stem above a six sided brass & gilt pierced cone form console that suspends three brass & gilt support bars between the graduated faceted oval crystal tent chains. The center crystal tent chains have eight graduated double sided faceted round jewels that are suspended with double oval chains. The six sided brass & gilt pierced cone form console has six twisted brass canes that suspend oval crystal chains with brass pegodas pinned in French crystal drops and oval crystal chains hung in between. Below the suspension tent is a brass & gilt console ring with an interwoven Gothic Arch decoration. The console ring has six s-scrolled brass candle branches and six up curved candle branches pinned with faceted crystal oval Jewels with French Drops. Between the six up curved candle branches are six brass & gilt Plumes that are stylized fountains with a crystal spout in the center. The double arches on the Plume fountains have ten crystal faceted diamond Jewels with French drops. Beneath the brass & gilt console ring is a faceted oval crystal chain basket that mirrors the crystal oval chain tent above. The bottom is completed with a faceted crystal ball surrounded with crystal faceted oval jeweled French Drops.
