Fine Ten-Light Cut Glass Chandelier by F&C Osler

About the Item

A fine cut glass chandelier with multi baluster stem, the main receiver bowl cut with large drop hung scallops issuing ten thumb cut scroll S-arms supporting flat diamond and scalloped drip pans and candle nozzles, the upper section of the chandelier issuing eight crooks mounted with six sided spires and petal collars then terminating with graduated petal cut trumpets. The chandelier profusely draped with half back spangles and finial pear drops. English, circa 1870 Dimension: Height 63in (160cm) Width 34 1/4in (87cm) The line drawing of this chandelier is courtesy of the Witherhur library showing how the chandelier would have been also used for gas.

    A fine ten-light cut glass and silvered mounted chandelier of Classic tent and waterfall design the stem consisting of a tent of drops above which there is two drop hung canopy’s terminating with scalloped top piece. The main ring supporting ten six sided candle arms terminating with flute cut drip pan and scalloped slice cut candle nozzles. The main ring mounted with star cut six sided flower rosettes and faceted spikes, below this the waterfall is made up of concentric rings hung with prismatic drops and eight sided spangles terminating with a lapidary cut finial.
