French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Ormolu Chandelier
About the Item
An elegant and extremely high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu chandelier. The twelve arm chandelier is centered by a lovely bottom foliate finial below the central fut adorned with richly chased acanthus leaves. The arms are staggered over two tiers and each display an elegant lightly curved design with scrolled Rinceau shaped movements adorned with finely detailed acanthus leaves leading to charming candle cups. At the center is a striking urn shaped support adorned with swaging tied berried laurel garlands below the most decorative pierced top crown with a draping tassel design in a rich satin and burnished finish. All original gilt throughout.
