Hokore Pendant

About the Item

The HOKORE pendant is a pure work of art. The play of the light and shadow will add a sculptural feeling in any setting. Hokore means proud in Japanese and the inspiration for the lamp is the strength of a flower bud growing into full bloom. Using the traditional art of takesensuji, which is a technique traditionally used to make insect cages and paper lanterns, the lamp builds on tradition while adding a modern look and use. The lamp is carefully handcrafted in Japan by the artist Tani Toshiyuki together with bamboo masters using nearly 1,000 bamboo strips. It takes over 5 weeks to create the pendant. Porcelain socket for E27 light bulb (light bulb not included), clear light bulb for the best result. Maximum 60W bulb or equivalent LED. Please note that colours shown on screen might differ to some extent from colours on the actual object, so we cannot guarantee a colour match. Also the natural material used may differentiate in appearance from object to object.
