Maison Delisle, Large Gilt Bronze Chandelier with Stylized Egg Decor, circa 1970

About the Item

Maison Delisle, Large chiseled and gilt bronze chandelier with 20 candle branches in two rows. The upper dome with scalloped edges standing on gadrooned stand, from which large leaves acanthus started. Just above, the first ten scrolls candle branches ending on gadrooned cups. Between the two rows, the column is shaped in a stylized egg form with flower sieve decor. Egg holding up the second circular element where ten others candle branches are supported. Below, reversed pomegranate ends the composition. Functional electricity system. Work realized in 1970s. Maison Delisle is a French firm specialized in luminaires and clocks creation since 1890. Great willingness to perdure tradition craftsman technique, Maison Delisle self-imposed during decades like a firm of high-quality French savoir-faire firm. Requested for orders since 1913 by Paul Alexandrovitch of Russia in Tsarskoe Selo. Maison Delisle continued to fulfilling prestigious orders as in 2011 with the all luminaires’ achievement in Louveciennes’ castle, sold €275, 000,000 euros. With joining contemporary artists, the high-end firm offers luminaires’ collections combining modernity and tradition with great fineness.
