Pair of Italian 18th Century Baroque St. Giltwood Lanterns
About the Item
A striking and most decorative pair of Italian 18th century Baroque st. giltwood lanterns. Each octagonal lantern is centered by a beautiful bottom foliate finial with a fine ball. Above the mottled foliate bands are hand blown fitted glass panes with doors at the front secured by charming iron handles. Each glass pane is separated by elegant richly carved flowers in bloom amidst musical instruments tied with lovely bows. Above additional foliate mottled bands are the impressive dome shaped tops with intricately carved honeycomb designs, pieced reserves at each side and fine and most unique stacked water vessels.
