Pair of Italian 19th Century Louis XV St. Chandeliers
About the Item
A sensational pair of Italian 19th century Louis XV st. gilt metal, giltwood, crystal and cut glass chandeliers. Each most impressive twenty four light chandelier is centered by a stunning array of most decorative cut crystal pendants amidst beautiful cut glass beaded garlands. Elegantly scrolled gilt metal supports lead upwards and throughout the cage, centering a mottled topie shaped giltwood finial with charming and most unique gilt metal sprays of finely executed cut glass and crystal pendants. The arms are staggered over three elegant tiers and each display fine turned giltwood candle cups with beautiful cut crystal bobeches with lovely crystal pendants. Additional beautiful scrolled designs lead upwards to a majestic top crown adorned with fine crystal pendants and charming cut glass floral rosettes. Wonderful proportions throughout.
