Swedish Gustavian Chandelier, 1790s
About the Item
A finely designed Gustavian chandelier made for seven candles. It has six candle-arms around the ring and one candleholder in the middle of the blue bottom bowl. In Sweden we call this a poor mans candle.
The rings, chains etc are made of gilt bronze. All crystals are of the best quality and the most important is that the blue blown glass bowl at the bottom is original. These are over the years usually broken and almost always replaced with later copies.
