A Tony Zuccheri Murano Glass Chandelier, Italy c.1970
About the Item
Original chandelier produced by Venini from the 1960s, "tronchi" model, design by Toni Zuccheri. The tree-trunk-formed glass cylinders are arranged in 3 tiers; an upper tier with 6 cylinders, a lower tier with 6 cylinders, and a middle tier with 16 cylinders. All the cylinders are in excellent condition, intact glass, no chips, or missing parts. The cylinders are suspended from slender steel rods hanging from a painted steel frame. They are evenly lit by 8 light bulbs in two socket sizes. The effect is quietly dazzling, a filtered light that shimmers and glows.
