Unique Contemporary Pendant Light Sculpture by Niamh Barry

About the Item

Unique piece 'The Artist's Hand IV'. A captivating light sculpture of hand forged brushed and lacquered bronze, with opal glass tiles concealing LEDs. Floating in space, the sculpture describes a sweep of light warmed by its bronze sculptural support. It will work on a dimmer and is suspended by a simple system for precisely adjusting the drop from the ceiling. Approx. 20 kgs. Since the beginning of her artistic career, Barry has risen to prominence in the art and design world, becoming one of the most sought-after figures working in LED light sculptures today. Barry has been profiled in many publications including the Financial Times' 'How To Spend It', Architectural Digest, Galerie Magazine and Modern Magazine and her work is included in many public and private collections internationally. Most recently Barry has completed a monumental light sculpture in the HQ of the Central Bank of Ireland and a solo exhibition of her work from the last decade opened in November 2018 at the National Museum of Ireland. Barry's light sculptures show "…great artistry and work that both occupies its space, illuminates it and yet seems to flow through it at the same time." Lynn Scarff, Director of the National Museum of Ireland.
