The Clitemnestra floor lamp showcases the duality between the raw beauty of the Bassano del Grappa marble base and the delicacy of the Venetian blown opal glass bulb. It is an ode to the excellence of Venetian handcrafting.
The creation of Clitemnestra is a journey, from the mountains where the blocks of marble are hand carved, to the lagoon, which is the backdrop for the traditional glass blowing.
The Artist
CARCINO Design was founded in Venice in 2021 by architects Maria Pernice and Marco Brotto. Enlivened by the oldest currents of the lagoon city, the duo interprets a universal language of contents and forms, aimed at both East and West. The studio primarily focuses on the search for beauty - so complex to grasp yet concrete in its expression.
"In every object, we thrive to find the concepts of beauty and communication, whose transposition in current language is easily identifiable in quality".
CARCINO Design always attempts at challenging their creative process and approach to crafting works using the latest modelling tools. Working exclusively with the finest, locally sourced materials, the studio offers handcrafted pieces carefully manufactured in Italy, cultivating local heritage and savoir-faire.

October Gallery
October Gallery is an online gallery focused on highlighting new contemporary, limited edition and collectible design from emerging talented multidisciplinary artists and studios. The portfolio comprises a curated selection of unique pieces, limited editions and small series, as well numbered and signed by their authors, with a certificate of authenticity included.
Our language expresses a set of emotions, such as uniqueness and exclusivity, mutability and unpredictability, material transformation and organicity. An uncensored aesthetic in which each piece holds its power and character, offering a new vocabulary for an audience that seeks protagonism and differentiation. It represents a change in the interpretation of design, based on the memories of portuguese craft production, creating bridges with innovation and new technologies.
