About the Item
Suora or Nun in the English language is “The” Iconic Floor Lamp which fully represents the essence of Carlo Mollino’s inspiration and great skill in his design products.
It also represents part of what happened in the Italian movement in the field of post-war design.
The large parchment diffuser left in its natural colour it’s sewn onto a burnished brass frame reminiscent a nun’s hat.
.The colour yellow Sahara tone marble base moves easily thanks to underlying spheres.
The burnished brass stem has two joints which make the lamp very versatile in its articulation.
This specific floor lamp is the replica of a prototype designed by Carlo Mollino on the occasion of an exhibition organised in 1947 in New York by Cadma, Craft Materials Distribution Commission. This was never put into production until 1994.
