Welcome Lamp by Sofia Alvarado

About the Item

Welcome Lamp by Sofia Alvarado Dimensions: D 50 x H 180. Materials: Guayacán wood, lacquered metal FI is an ornamental artist who embodies the creative Revelation of the sensitivity of the innate being, with uninhibited freedom by proposing a global universe between furniture, objects, scenery, sculpture, drawing, painting and letters. Inspired by the poetry that gives life, nature, the accuracy of imperfection, history, architecture, dreams, time and everything that educates beyond reason; transforms feelings and thoughts into stories to later create physically palpable pieces and scenarios by merging design with art, a principle that allows her to experiment with shapes, materials and color combinations, using all kinds of geometries, which manage to represent situations of an imagined reality. Sofia Alvarado, founder of Fi, is an architect and designer with the sensitivity necessary to recognize that sustainability is only possible where all actors prosper and human rights are respected, so the ideology of the study is based on the concept of Human Design, which promotes detailed work, integral design of things and efficiency on a human scale, in a tribute to Latin american handmade Craft that has been suggested for years by the insecurity of ignorance. It uses technology but does not abandon the artisans, mainly it dignifies them and empowers, so that they appropriate their work to the fullest, and thus achieve luxury artisans. All pieces made in Fi are handmade in Panama by single / unique or limited edition, either under collection or to design to order. Fi - Sofia Alvarado born and based in Panama and graduated in architecture from the School of Architecture of Latin America and the Caribbean, Panama. She has participated in the Ibero-American Design Biennial in its editions bid16 / bid18 / bid20, Madrid, Spain and MADE Latina and in Sao Paulo Design week, 2019, Sao Paulo, Brazil with its Prisma, Áurea, Welcome Back and Beautiful City collections. • Longing Lamp by AOAO
    Located in Geneve, CH
Longing lamp by AOAO Dimensions:W 60 x D 13 x H 100 cm. Materials: grey plaster. Color options available upon request. The idea was born after deciding to reconnect with my family and my grandfather – a sculptor artist. Learning to sculpt and being a designer compelled me to combine these two mediums and use their best values. Experimenting with the functionality of sculpture and the meaning of furniture led me to create the collection. Studio AOAO is an interdisciplinary studio combining art and design. It was created by Alicja Strzyzynska and Onur Iseri in Amsterdam in 2020. “We specialise in making sculptural pieces by experimenting with the functionality of sculpture and the meaning of furniture. In our works, we focus on the emotional connection between the object and the user. All of our work seeks the experience of intimacy and the metaphysical bond between personal interaction and meaningful narrative. Through sculptural value and reflective design, we aim to create pieces that last for generations and help reduce environmental waste.” The inspiration to sculpt came from Alicja’s roots, her grandfather – an artist sculptor. Alicja completed Masters of Arts Degree in Product and Visual Communication Design at Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts and finished her bachelor degree in Interior Architecture. Alicja previously worked in Tokyo and Amsterdam in architectural design studios. Onur completed his business studies in Japan and worked in digital design & marketing as well as teaching in Tokyo. The studio’s first collection debuted at Rossana Orlandi Gallery during Milan Design Week 2021. The studio currently collaborates with RO Gallery...
