1950's Italian Swage Tapered Brass Tubes Ceiling Light
About the Item
Very rare 1950's Italian ceiling flush mount light fixture attributed to Gio Ponti.
The fixture consists of a 12 inch diameter round brass ceiling plate mounted, like candles on a birthday cake, by nine individual swage tapered solid brass elongated cones in ascending order of height.
Height from base to top of tallest of the cones is 15 inches, not including bulbs.
Previously I had only ever seen the wall sconce version of this design which are usually attributed to Ponti.

Can also be used corded and placed on a surface.
Appears never to have been used, as in New Old Stock.
Takes nine candelabra bulbs, E14 (or E12 with the provided adapters). Up to 40 watts each.
We have shown here with mini globes as well as torpedo bulbs. There are so many different lightbulb styles available today that make it fun to experiment with different shapes and finishes which can really transform the character of a fixture.
