About the Item
An elegant pair of ceiling lamps model. 80112/80115, designed by Gunnel Nyman and manufactured by Idman in Finland in the 1950s. This very minimal design fits easily into any interior. As with a lot of Scandinavian design the beauty of these lamps stems from the simplicity. Nothing extra, only whats necessary, and once again, less is more. In addition the condition is flawless and both pieces have Idman stamps at the base.
Back when these lamps were still commercially sold, they were interchangeable with each other, thats why these lamps have the base of the model 80112 and shades of the 80115.
Gunnel Nyman (1909-1948) was a Finnish glass and metal artist, and one of the founders of modern Finnish glass design. She was also a proponent of early mass-produced glassware. Nyman's glassware is exhibited in museums internationally and her designs feature organic lines and a focus on the characteristics of glass itself.
