Rare & Great Pair of Art Deco Opaline Glass Flush Mounts or Wall Sconces 1920s

About the Item

Good size, very rare and all handcrafted pair of Art Deco flush mounts or wall lamps. Some light fixtures you only find once in your life and that certainly is the case with this hand-crafted pair of pure white, opaline glass Art Deco flush mounts / wall lights. When we saw this striking pair we immediately knew we had to have them, but these were initially not for sale. Initially we were only able to purchase a very similar pair that we sold via 1stdibs last month. The former owners initially wanted to use this pair in their new home, but when they decided not to, we were over the moon to purchase them after all. Also, because this antique mouth blown and curved glass is extremely hard to find. On top of that ofcourse is the timeless design of these Art Deco sconces. They will look great in all kinds of interiors and the combination of the materials and their calm 'colors' too make this pair an interior designer's dream. We can already see them on the wall of an entry hall, but they could also be perfect on a bedroom wall (vertically over your nightstands) or on a ceiling somewhere. There must currently be hundreds if not thousands of projects where these rare lights can be used to upgrade part of a home or a business. We first thought these were midcentury made, but an antique stained glass expert confirmed that these are most definitely from the earliest years of the 1900s. In image 19 you can see that the former owners 'recently' created a new light source to go inside/behind these shades, but we would advise to create a more simple and lighter (in weight) solution to fit inside the beautifully bronzed copper frames of these sconces. Via the two screw holes at the ends, these relatively light-weight fixtures are safely and easily mounted in very little time. We only used one screw (for each sconce) for our photos where we shot them whilst mounted on our grey colored wall. The combination of the geometrical Art Deco design and the rounded, white opaline glass panels truly is a match made in heaven. Both with the light switched on and off, these really are a joy to look at. If you already have a space in mind for this unique and excellent condition pair of Art Deco flush mounts then they could be flying your way soon. Mind you, our fair price for this striking pair of wall or ceiling lights even includes perfect packing and also worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days. Maximum width x depth x height each: 17.5 x 8 x 4.8 inches. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish yet practical and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop our 1000+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.

The combination of their unique design and the perfect light they radiate make them both aesthetically pleasing and highly practical.
