Early 20th Century E.F. Caldwell Leaded Glass Lantern

About the Item

A hexagonal leaded glass lantern. The glass panels are wheel engraved with a curved foliate flower basket design. The top panels slant to the top and have clear round glass pieces. The bottom is flat with a circular center panel and six trapezoidal panels around it. The pattern of engraving is the same on all sides with slight variation indicative of hand work. One of the sides opens up on a hinge to access the bulb. The socket is enclosed in the original satin nickel bell. Rewired for use in the US with new socket, complete with chain and canopy. In good structural condition, with some age to the finish of the metal. United States, C. 1910. Min OA drop is 18” fixture alone is 15.5”, currently setup at 31.5”.

    Rewired: rewired, hardwired for use in the US. porcelain socket rated to 250W. Repaired: slight instability in the leaded glass framing was repaired by a stained glass artist. Wear consistent with age and use.
