Large Pair Bakalowits Miracle Sputnik Style Sconces Gilt Murano Glass Venini Era
About the Item
Large rare and magnificent pair of gilt brass Murano crystal glass "Miracle" sputnik style sconces with attribution to Bakalowits, Austria or german first class lighting company Palwa, Germany circa 1960s to 1970s. The high quality gilt brass metal wall lights have 12 inner and 19 outer very faint amber shimmering shiny iridescent Murano glass rods in different sizes which are arranged in two concentric half circles around the base. The sculptural gorgeous wall lamps have gilt brass fittings and they take each five E14 standard screw bulbs to illuminate, we recommend LED bulbs which produce no heat. Wiring is perfect so they are fine working and ready to use. The appliques have a width of 30 cm / 11.81 inches, they are 36 cm / 14.17 inches tall and 20 cm / 7.87 inches deep. Cleaned with love the high end sconces stay in very good to excellent original vintage condition with no defects, minor wear consistent with age and use. Typical for Palwa, Bakalowits and Lobmeyr lighting, these sconces are made with best materials and are of very high quality. Illuminated or unlit these elegant timeless beauties are eye-catcher and a perfect addition and upgrade for any Mid-Century Modern noble stylish interior.
