Pair of French 1950's Brass Wire Star Sconces
About the Item
Unusual pair of vintage solid brass double arm wall sconces from France, 1950's.
These were found in distressed black paint which probably was not original (see image 15) so we removed the paint, polished the brass and rewired them.
Otherwise they are in tact as found, even the E14 candelabra bulb sockets.
The celluloid or nylon collars beneath each light socket could be repainted but are presented au natural.
Obviously these share similarities with certain significant French designers of the time but I have been unable to identify their DNA.
I would gratefully receive any information people are kind enough to share.
Star diameter is 6 inches; its hub is 2.5 inches. Each hub has three holes for securing to wall.
Yellow shades are store props and shown for display and scale purposes only. Measures: 8" H x 2" top + 5" bottom.
