1970s Aqua Tone 'Lily Pad' Art Glass Lamp by Richard Harkness
About the Item
Studio glass lamp with original shade made by renowned glass blower, Richard Harkness (New Hampshire, USA, circa 1970s). Harkness's work can be seen in a number of prestigious galleries and museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Additionally, he was formerly a professor of glassblowing at Haystack Mountain School of Arts.
Harkness's lamps are scarcely seen. This particular art glass lamp in the 'lily pad' pattern features a dense swirl motif throughout. The aqua-tone blown glass finial and floral shade are both original to the piece. The glass shows age-expected wear but is free of chips and cracks.
Artist's etched signature present on the underside.
